Default Transfer News: £30m deal to keep Cesc

by CARL ELDRIDGE Arsenal will offer Cesc Fabregas a new five-year deal that will make him the highest paid player in our history, according to this morning\'s .The red top claims that despite having three years to run on his current contract, the board will sanction a 120,000 a-week deal to ensure the 22-year-old Spaniard stays at the Emirates. And it adds that the lure of a 30million contract could ensure Fabregas rejects overtures from Barcelona and Real Madrid. In the AW claims England\'s treatment of Theo Walcott made him \'uncertain and insecure\'. Wenger said: \"It\'s very important for a player to know where he is. And when he goes to national teams and he is moved up and down, he gets uncertain and insecure and you lose him at both levels.\"When you are a football player, you want to know you belong here. And once you have made that step, and then you have to go back, you question yourself. And basically, that is what happened to Theo.\"I am not frustrated - I have an explanation. What has stopped Theo Walcott is injuries - and nothing else. I can understand why people are starting to question him because there is always an instant judgement.\"But I wouldn\'t question Theo Walcott because I am convinced he will be a great player. He is strong enough. He is very strong. He has gone through two shoulders and that takes much longer than people expect.\"Theo started late. At 12 years of age. Of course that sounds ridiculous but most of the players start playing the game at seven, eight, nine or ten. You get your acquisitions, technically, between seven and 12.\"But technically, he has improved a lot since coming to Arsenal. What Theo has in his favour is that he learns quickly because he is intelligent. But you learn from the games you play. He has missed too many games. It is impossible in modern sport to be away for three months and then to come back at the same level.\"The todays says that AW Wenger will surely be spending some of his 35million transfer fund this summer, as we were involved in three last-minute deals on transfer deadline day which failed to go through.AW was close to bringing in two players on loan, including a centre forward, and another on an initial loan with a view to a permanent move. The paper says it was a dramatic move by the club, the day after their dispiriting 3-1 defeat at home by Manchester United, and not adding to the squad in the final hours may well leave them short for the rest of this season. But it does seem to indicate that AW is ready to spend money in the summer to add the finishing touches to his team, claims the paper.Right, where\'s my ticket I\'m off to cheer on the rip-roaring Red machine -- COYG!
